Sustaining the community of life and the well being of humanity depends upon preserving a healthy biosphere with all its ecological systems, a rich variety of plants and animals, fertile soils, pure waters and clean air. The global environment with its finite resources is a common concern of all peoples.

To enable a sustainable world we must confront the full forces of the climate crisis and recognise the urgency of action and the scale of transition required to restore a safe climate future.

After three decades of dire warnings about the severity of climate change we are yet again at a pivotal point where our own judgements about the capacity of human civilisation to overcome enormous challenges, presents two clear options.

It either drives us to great despair leading us to accept great losses and opt for adaptation, or we rise to the challenge with a dedicated and deliberate effort to use the enormous potential of human ingenuity, creativity and cooperation to overcome what seems like the impossible.

It's time to restore a safe climate.
